TIP 1: remove remaining coffee residues and coffee fats

Instructions

Replace the Eccellente water filter for Melitta bi-monthly. When doing so, follow the following step-by-step plan:

Step 1: remove the used water filter from the water tank and dispose of it in the residual waste.
Step 2: remove the new water filter from the packaging and hold it upside down in a bowl of water for about 1 minute, this will remove the air and fill the filter with water.
Step 3: screw the filter into the water tank in the designated place.
Step 4: some Melitta coffee machines require activation of the water filter. Activate the water filter now. No activation is required? Then drain two cups of hot water to flush the water filter.

Your Melitta coffee machine is ready to use again.

Instructions for fitting Eccellente water filter in Melitta Caffeo Solo

Change the water filter in your Melitta Caffeo Solo very easily with the following 4 steps:

Your machine displays the message replace filter. Please note that during the entire process to change the filter, the water filter symbol flashes.
Step 1: remove the new water filter from its packaging and before inserting it, place the filter in a glass of water for a few minutes to vent.
Step 2: switch off the coffee machine. Press and release the ‘coffee bean’ and ‘switch on’ buttons for 3 seconds. Then the message for emptying the drip tray lights up. Empty the drip tray and replace it.
Step 3: the water tank symbol lights up. Remove the water tank from the machine, screw the filter into the bottom of the water tank in the designated place. Fill the water tank with water up to the max mark and place the water tank back in your coffee machine.
Step 4: Press the ‘coffee bean’ button. Your coffee machine will start rinsing automatically. Has your machine finished rinsing? Empty the drip tray and replace it.

Your Melitta Caffeo Solo is now ready to use. Time for a delicious cup of coffee!

Using the Eccellente water filter in your Melitta Purista coffee machine

Replace the water filter in your Purista at least every 2 months, or when your coffee machine mentions it. The Melitta Purista has several models, this instruction is written for the Melitta Purista series 300.

Step 1: remove the new water filter from its packaging and before inserting it, place the filter in a bowl of water for a few minutes to vent.
Step 2: your machine is on and ready to use. Press the ‘service’ button for 2 seconds. You will now see the service menu . Then press the ‘service’ key as many times until the display for the filter programme appears. You will now see one coffee bean on the display.
Step 3: Press the ‘service’ key for more than 2 seconds to start the filter programme. On the display, the filter icon will continue to flash until the filter replacement is complete. The ‘drip tray’ message appears, empty the drip tray and the residue tray (waste bin). Place the drip tray WITHOUT the grounds container back in the machine and place the grounds container under the coffee spout.
Step 4: the ‘water’ message appears. Remove the water tank from your machine, empty it and screw the new filter into the tank. Fill the water tank with water again and replace it. The filter will now be flushed and water will flow into the drip tray and the residue tray. Then empty both trays and simply place them back in your machine.

Replacing the filter is complete, the ‘filter’ message has disappeared from the display. Your Melitta Purista is ready to use again to prepare a delicious cup of coffee!
